The Legend of Miyamoto
I was approached by a content editor at Mad*Pow to submit post ideas for UX Magazine. After submitting several ideas, The Legend of Miyamoto: How Nintendo Shaped UX was chosen.
The article covers the career of of Shigeru Miyamoto—the creative genius behind Donkey Kong, Super Mario Brothers, and the Legend of Zelda—and its effect on user experience design. Being a massive Nintendo fanboy, I thoroughly enjoyed doing the research into the life and work of Shigeru Miyamoto—from his imaginative youth to his current projects at Nintendo.
Since the initial publication, the article has been picked up by Mashable and made it to the front page of Digg.com. The article has received roughly 500 mentions on Twitter and has been shared over 7,000 times.
